EDITORIAL DESIGN
Production of a visual essay related to the text "Designer Communism - non places as utopia" by Mark Fisher. A visual essay is a series of images expressing your investigation into the text, its concepts, arguments, attitudes and proposals.
We were set specific workshops in studio sessions, but developed these exercises in our own time, practising techniques in our way. Working through a process of practical experimentation, questioning and research, we had to edit the visual essay down from a greater number of images to a refined edit that communicates the subtleties, complexities and simplicities of the key ideas of the chosen text. We explored a range of image-making techniques and playful restrictions to produce unexpected results.
Finally, editing, selecting and designing the visual material and producing it into a digital publication.
